Symptoms to Watch For

Mild AMS (common, usually manageable): Headache, fatigue, mild nausea, dizziness, difficulty sleeping, reduced appetite.

Severe — descend immediately: Severe headache unrelieved by rest and water, persistent vomiting, confusion, difficulty breathing at rest, loss of coordination.

If symptoms worsen or become severe, descend immediately. Descent is the most effective treatment for altitude sickness.

Practical Tips

Disclaimer: This plan provides general acclimatization guidance based on established wilderness medicine guidelines. It is not medical advice and does not replace physician consultation. Individual responses to altitude vary. Consult a doctor before high-altitude travel if you have heart, lung, or blood conditions.
