CPW Seeks Public’s Help in Sedalia Deer Poaching Case

SEDALIA, COLORADO — Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is asking for the public’s help to solve a poaching case involving a buck mule deer that was killed and abandoned on private property west of Sedalia.

The incident occurred around noon on Sunday, November 17, near the intersection of Highway 105 and Highway 67. A witness reported hearing a gunshot and saw a man trespassing on private land. Shortly after the man left the area, the witness discovered the mule deer’s carcass, which had been abandoned.

CPW emphasized that hunting on private property requires landowner permission under Colorado law.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, approximately six feet tall, with a medium build. He was driving a gray Chevy truck with an extended cab and possible out-of-state license plates. The truck is notable for its black aftermarket front bumper, a black toolbox with a red logo in the truck bed, and a sticker on the lower corner of the back window on the driver’s side.
