DIVIDE, CO — Public Can Purchase Firewood and Support Park Improvements during the Upcoming October Weekend Event
For the fifth year running, Mueller State Park has announced its annual public firewood sale, a collaborative effort with the Friends of Mueller State Park. The event, scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 7-8, aims to provide high-quality firewood to the public while supporting ongoing projects and improvements within the park.
The firewood sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, while supplies last. The park itself is located three miles south of Divide on Colorado Highway 67. Interested parties should note that the firewood collection site is approximately one mile north of the park’s main entrance, on the west side of Highway 67 near the Cantiberry Road intersection. Directional signage will be displayed prominently for easier navigation.
The Friends of Mueller State Park will offer a mix of dry and green, un-split firewood rounds cut to lengths of approximately 12 to 24 inches. The group is accepting cash-only donations, ranging from $60 to $80 depending on the amount of wood requested. It’s important to note that trailers will not be permitted for wood collection; only pickup trucks will be allowed.
Brian Kerrigan, park manager of Mueller State Park, invites the public to take advantage of this unique opportunity. “Please join us in supporting the Friends of Mueller State Park and stock up on firewood at bargain prices,” Kerrigan said. “The Friends of Mueller State Park continue to be a valuable partner with the park, and this firewood sale has started to become an important fundraiser for them.”
