Saguache County, CO – In a successful operation carried out on September 5th, Saguache Search and Rescue (SAR) located and safely guided a lost hiker back to her vehicle. The hiker, who has requested to remain anonymous, lost her route while descending Kit Carson Mountain and missed the Avenue, a well-known section of the trail that serves as a guiding route.
The lost hiker was advised to descend Spanish Creek due to her location at the time. A ground team from Saguache SAR promptly responded to the call and ascended the Spanish Creek Trail. Upon meeting up with the survivor, the team guided her down the trail without any further complications. The survivor was then transported back to her vehicle at the Willow Creek Trailhead. According to Saguache SAR, all personnel were out of the field by 23:30 hours.
