Stay The Trail Colorado October Campaign Report

October Report: “Stay the Trail” Leave No Trace Education Campaign

Campaign Overview
In October, we launched the “Stay the Trail” Leave No Trace (LNT) Education Campaign, a pilot initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of staying on established trails to protect Colorado’s wilderness. This campaign targets outdoor enthusiasts across Colorado and emphasizes responsible recreation through educational content. The campaign will continue through the end of November, and based on its success, we’re planning a larger, extended campaign for Spring/Summer/Fall 2025.

Visitors can watch informative videos, test their knowledge with quizzes, and download tip cards to apply Leave No Trace principles on their adventures. The page is designed to foster a deeper understanding of why responsible recreation matters and how small actions, like staying on trails, protect delicate ecosystems.

Looking Ahead

This initial phase is just the beginning. We’re gathering insights from this pilot campaign to refine and expand our approach for next year. Our plan for 2025 is to run this campaign through the spring, summer, and fall seasons, ensuring that our “Stay the Trail” message reaches as many outdoor enthusiasts as possible during the peak hiking months.

With your ongoing support, we’ll be able to broaden our reach, create new educational content, and make a lasting impact on Colorado’s wilderness. If you’re not yet a member, consider joining us in this mission. For as little as $5 a month, you can help us fund campaigns like this one and protect the trails we all love.
