Our Innovative Programs

Making A Mountain Impact One Step at a Time.

At The Next Summit, we don’t just talk about change; we actively work towards it. Our programs are the heart of our mission, driving the change we envision for outdoor recreation. It’s all possible thanks to the generous support of our readers and Next Summit members.

Targeted Awareness Campaigns

Social Media Advertising Campaigns: Partnering with the Leave No Trace Center and the Colorado search and rescue community, we fund ongoing targeted ads on Facebook to inform and educate Colorado residents and visitors about Leave No Trace ethics and outdoor safety best practices to prevent negative recreational impacts.

Field Support and Direct Aid

Financial Support to Partners: We provide 5% of our annual revenue as direct financial aid to partner organizations doing important work that aligns with and supports our mission. Groups we support include the Leave No Trace Center, Colorado Search and Rescue Association, Colorado Fourteeners Initiative, Lockwood Foundation, Fix CRUS Coalition, Protect Our Winters, and more.

Future Research Initiatives

14er Visitor Survey Project: Beginning in 2024, we will work with several partner organizations to conduct ongoing survey research among Colorado hikers and climbers to inform preventative search and rescue and leave no trace education messaging, tactics, and strategies and support our push for additional funding and support from local and state governments for this work.
